The main research results from the doctoral thesis

3D fibre orientation estimation in volume images

The 3D fibre orientation in volume image data can be accurately estimated using the image intensities in gray scale images. Syntetic and X-ray microtomography images were used in the experiments with good results both for tubular and solid fibres.

3D tracking of cellulose fibres in volume images

3D tracking of cellulose fibres in volume images.

3D pore segmentation of fibre based materials in binary volume images

Individual 3D pore segmentation in binarised volume images of fibre based materials.

Ring artifact reduction in X-ray microtomography images of fibre based materials

Ring artifact reduction in X-ray microtomography images of fibre based materials.

Volume estimation of the interface pores of press felts

Volume estimation of the interface pores of press felts.
